Nearest town – Joshimath, 17 km (1 hour by road / 15 minutes by cable car)

The best option is to travel from Delhi to Haridwar, a distance of 229 km on National Highway No 47. The climb from Haridwar to Joshimath is 257 km and takes around 10 hours. Cold winds blow in the areas adjoining Rishikesh, Srinagar, Karnaprayag and Chamoli. Joshimath to Clifftop Club is 17 km by road or 15 minutes by cable car. You can take a break at Rishikesh / Rudraprayag to rest in between the journey.

Cable car is operational only up to 5pm, so it is advisable to reach the cable car parking at Joshimath by 4pm. In case members reach after 5PM, a four wheel drives can be hired to reach Auli. The drive is around 17 km and takes one hour. Cable car charge for the return trip is Rs 400 per person, valid for one week.
Driving all the way to Clifftop Club, Auli will require a four wheel drive. All other vehicles will only reach the GMVN tourist rest house 4 km below Clifftop Club. Parking can be availed at the tourist rest house from where the chair lift operates to take people to Tower No 8, where Clifftop is located. The chair lift charge is Rs 200 for a return trip.
